It’s almost been 2 full months since my last Liz List. Yikes! 😬 Certainly not intentional, but sometimes life gets in the way. It’s honestly been a weird couple of months for me, personally. I feel like it’s been a season of like, realizing things. Don’t worry… nothing too bad! I’m just working through the normal new mom emotions surrounding this life transition into motherhood, and it’s had me a bit distracted from the blog. I’m actually working on a blog post about it right now, but since it’s more personal and involves lots of feelings it’s taking me a bit to finish it up. More to come!

This weekend is, of course, the Texas-OU game, so we’ll for sure be posted up on the couch watching that tomorrow. It’s the first year in a while that we aren’t traveling to Dallas to watch in person. We decided we didn’t want to take Kate with us since it’s usually pretty hot and that sounded miserable with a 6 month old in tow, and we didn’t want to leave her behind because we’re doing that in a few weeks for a visit to New York City. But of course now I’m seeing the weather forecast looks beautiful so that’s typical. 😅 Oh well! Then tomorrow night I’m headed out on the town with my friend Victoria to see the Third Eye Blind concert. 🕺 Here’s to hoping I can stay awake! 🥂

Here’s what I’ve been into the last couple months:

  • PRODUCT OF THE WEEK: Blue light glasses. Specifically, these from Warby Parker. I’ve been hearing blue light glasses really help with eye strain, and I finally took the plunge after seeing enough people on Instagram rave about them. As someone who frequently spends all day in front of a computer dealing with numbers (work) and words (blogging), I can tell you they absolutely make a difference. View more styles here!

  • TRAVEL: My husband and I are considering a trip to Germany and/or Austria over the Christmas holiday to visit the Christmas markets there. Has anyone ever been?! If so, send me all the advice! My only hesitation is the weather. We would be taking Kate with us.

  • HOME TOUR: Julia Engle’s (of Gal Meets Glam insta-fame) Charleston home tour in Southern Living Magazine. Love the guest bedroom in the loft! So dreamy.

  • CELEBRITY: I enjoyed reading this Washington Post profile on Andy Cohen. I watch almost every single episode of Watch What Happens Live and am a true Andy stan. 😜 Shout out to my husband who sent me this article (or I would have missed it). Thanks babe!

  • BUSINESS NEWS: The Marriott International hotel chain is phasing out mini plastic toiletry bottles by 2020. They’re replacing them with tamper-proof, larger bottles (for higher end brands like the Ritz) and wall mounted dispensers (for lower end brands). Marriott is the largest hotel group in the world, so this will have quite a positive environmental impact. I’m glad to see it!

  • SOCIAL MEDIA: Instagram is phasing out the “Following” tab. Sorry for all you snoopers out there! No more creeping to see who is following who or if your boyfriend is liking his ex’s thirsty bikini pics! While I do consider myself to be somewhat of an online investigator (🕵🏻‍♀️), I actually never use this tab so no big deal to me! I think it’s probably for the best.

  • TELEVISION: No articles to link, just a few recommendations. 1) Mindhunter on Netflix. About a special FBI unit in the late 70’s tasked with researching serial killers. It is great. David and I enjoyed Season 2 even more than Season 1! 2) Jumping on the Succession bandwagon. It took me a while to get there, but I’m FULLY in now. Excellent. If you watch… Kendall’s rap a couple weeks ago… ☠️⚰️ 3) The HBO Chernobyl miniseries. Warning that I had nightmares after Episode 1, but it was worth it.

  • WILD SHIT: Didn’t quite know how to categorize this one so figured that worked. 😂 Y’all. This is wild. This Daily Mail story has been pretty widely circulated, so you may have already seen it. But if you haven’t omg you’re gonna die. A mother who adopted a 6 year-old Ukranian girl with Dwarfism is now claiming the girl is actually a 22-year old sociopath masquerading as a child. 😲 AND that the girl/woman (depending on who you believe) tried to kill her. 😱 Straight out of a horror movie stuff.

Have a great weekend! XOXO.
