Quick Liz List this week. This week has been crazy busy, so I haven’t been doing much reading. 😬 We leave for Cabo San Lucas next Tuesday (this is where we’re staying), so I’ve been trying to get everything done before we head out of town (work, stuff around the house, beauty appointments, all that jazz). I’ll worry about resting when I get there! And yes, we ARE bringing baby Kate with us. It will be her first flight. Wish us luck! 🤞🏻🙏🏻

Not gonna lie my week got a bit bumpy on Wednesday. I did measurements with my trainer Robin and over the past month I didn’t make any measurable progress towards my fitness goals. 😩 I started really working out again 5 weeks ago and haven’t lost a single pound or any inches plus my body fat percentage stayed the same. I wasn’t surprised by the scale number since I tend to gain muscle very easily, but I was by the body fat percentage. My calves did get bigger (which is good for me, I have issues building muscle there), but for the most part everything stayed pretty much the same. We spent a while trying to figure out what the issue is since I’ve been killing my workouts and (overall) my diet has been clean and healthy. We decided it must be some mixture of hormones (obviously things are still out of whack post-pregnancy), stress, and diet. Re: diet… we think I’m not eating enough calories. SO I’m going to be patient on the hormonal front, do my best to meditate and just be more mindful in general, and increase my calorie intake a bit. My resting calorie burn is 1489, so I’ve got to at least hit that every day! I’m going to share a bit more about my fitness journey and goals in a post when I get back from Mexico. More to come on that front.

And on the stress front, the trip to Mexico couldn’t come at a better time. Once I finish my work and clear out my e-mails, I’m going to pause my inbox so e-mails aren’t rolling in while I’m gone. I’m one of those people who has to clear allllll those little red dots on my iPhone, and I’ve found pausing my inbox really helps me unplug a lot better. I just tell our employees to text or call me if they really need something! I’m also going to take a bit of a break from social media too. Not sure how that’s going to look yet, but I WILL be doing it. I love sharing on social media, but I think a complete technology break is in order! Even if it’s just for 24 hours. I also plan on doing lots of yoga. 🧘🏻

Here’s what I’ve been into this week….

  • HOME TOUR: This traditional home tour courtesy of My Domaine. I love that traditional design is having a moment. And no, it’s not your grandma’s design aesthetic!

  • HOME TOUR: What can I say? I love a good home tour! Gray Malin just revealed before and after pictures of his home on Lake Michigan. It turned out beautifully. Dramatic before and after pictures are my jam.

  • HEALTH: I mentioned my stress levels in the paragraphs above. I had a good chat with my husband this week about things I’ve been stressing about lately. This morning he sent me this article which is full of helpful tips to combat stress and chilling the f*** out.

Given that I won’t be in town next week and want to have an enjoyable vacation, the blog will be going dark until we get back. In the meantime, I will keep up with my Instagram so be sure to follow along over there for all the vacation content!
