My Valentine's Day Look
The husband and I are spending a night out on the town this Valentine's Day starting with dinner at Jeffrey's (one of my favorites). Not quite sure where the night will take us after that - maybe to a low-key bar - although if I'm being honest we're a little boring, so we'll probably just end up going home and watching a movie. I am not ashamed! ;)
With Austin being such a casual city, I try to take advantage of any opportunity to dress up, and Valentine's Day is certainly one of those opportunities.
So, a couple weeks ago I spent some time internet shopping on NeimanMarcus.com for a dress that would work for the occasion (meaning I limited my search to shades of pinks and reds). While I loved this this pink Milly number and this sweet Alice + Olivia lace dress, I ended up choosing this red lace DKNY shift dress (now on sale). I loved the lace shoulder detail and the easy shift shape. Plus, I can see many occasions in my future where I can wear it again. My cousin gave me these Kenneth Jay Lane earrings (on sale) as a bridesmaids gift, and they work perfectly with the dress. I decided to go with my Kate Spade pumps for these pictures, but I might change it up and wear my 'Nudist' pumps.
