Happy Friday, everyone!

It’s my first week back blogging after baby (yay 🎉). Mom life has been awesome so far! I’m still working on getting back into the swing of things and figuring out my new normal. There’s obviously a lot more to do around here! 😳 Before Baby Kate arrived, I’d only been blogging for a few weeks, so I really hadn’t found my groove yet. Post-baby, I’m thinking the Monday/Wednesday/Friday posting cadence works well for now. As such, I’ve decided to switch “The Liz List” from a regular Thursday series to a Friday series since it’s an easy way to round out my week.

I look forward to the day when I can post daily, but that’s just not in the cards in this phase of life since I’m 100% certain it would lead to burn out. And that’s definitely not what I want! So, three posts per week on MWF is the goal. Of course there may be a week when I don’t post at all and that’s fine too (saying this more for my benefit than yours 😅). Consistency is important when building readership, so even if I’m not posting daily I still want to make sure I’m consistent. 💯

Now that we’ve got that out of the way, here’s what I’m into this week:

  • FASHION: I’m holding off on shopping for now until I lose some more baby weight, but if I were shopping these are some of the items I’d be adding to my cart…. these braided, chunky heels in white, these drawstring shorts by Vince, this pair of simple gold flats, these neutral statement earrings (perfect for vacation!), and this short sleeve midi dress from GAP.

  • REALITY TV: Season 6 of Southern Charm premiered this week. Personally, I rate it as the best reality show on television. I’ve convinced several of my friends to start the series from the beginning and every 👏🏻 single 👏🏻 one 👏🏻 of them was hooked. If you’re a reality TV fan and haven’t watched, then you must. I won’t give any spoilers but wow just WOW. If you do watch the show, then you probably saw this bit of gossip hit the news (warning: the story is a spoiler and so is the rest of this paragraph!). Seriously so sad. I hope Thomas gets the help he clearly needs. Also, how wrong were we as a society to vilify Kathryn so horribly?! Guilty. 🙋🏻 Her entire story arc is a lesson for me to not be so quick to judge! There’s so much we don’t know about a person’s life even if they do share a lot of it on a reality show or online.

  • ENTERTAINING: Tory Burch recently dropped a tableware collection and it’s so lovely (plus I enjoyed reading her interview about it with Moda Operandi). I love this pale pink, oval serving platter , these raffia placemats, and these colorful napkins. While everything is little too pricey for me to buy right now (saving my money for other things), I’m keeping my eyes peeled in case anything goes on sale!

  • MUSIC: My sister-in-law Daniella is a super talented musician and actress. While I was on maternity leave (kind of?), she came out with a new single that I LOVE. If you’re into music, check out her new single “Get Me Out of My Head”. It’s about overthinking (#relatable) and will make your head bop and hips swivel.

  • HOTELS: JFK airport is getting a new hotel and aviation geeks everywhere are freaking out. Investors have renovated the old TWA terminal (which you may remember from the Leo DiCaprio movie “Catch Me If You Can”) and have turned this piece of iconic American architecture into an impressive new hotel. Here’s a quick video if you want to see inside! Pretty cool.

  • TRAVEL: Is this the airplane seat of the future? Please dear God let it be true. Don’t get me started on the demise of airplane seats! 🙅🏻 With these state-of-the-art seats, passengers can “engage different seat modes, including ‘massage’, ‘mealtime’, and ‘sleep’” and via an app the seats will also “communicate with the passengers, reminding them to do in-seat stretches, stay properly hydrated, and move around the cabin to improve circulation.” So boujee.

  • US NEWS: By sharing this bit of alien-adjacent news, I’m revealing the true depth of my range of interests. Nerd alert! 🤓 But did you see the U.S. Government basically admitted UFO’s exist?! I don’t know why this story wasn’t bigger news but holy cow! The truth is out there.

  • HOME: I love the opening sentence of this article: “If you’re trying to limit screen time on your phone, you shouldn’t follow interior designers on Instagram.” HA. Relatable! Following Kate’s arrival, I’ve been more selective with accounts I follow on Instagram, but I just can’t seem to kick designers I love to the curb! Back to the article though…. given that I shared the before and after pictures of our kitchen this week, here’s a round up of some more great kitchen spaces via MyDomaine.

Have a great weekend!
